A good crowd turned out for last night’s final public hearing on the proposed 2009 Operating Budget. Roughly a dozen people came to the podium to address the City Council. Many of them spoke of their desire to maintain or even increase funding for City parks and open spaces. The Council will now consider those comments and other comments gathered from previous public hearings as they move forward toward adopting a final budget. A special meeting on the budget is set for Tuesday, November 25 at 6pm at City Hall. Some Councilors have come up with a list of items they’d like to discuss further at that meeting. That list will be included in the meeting agenda that comes out on Friday. Check back then, and I’ll have a new blog post with a link to that agenda.
